Thank you for being a part of the CSOL Art Serenade, a unique day-long celebration that brings together Charleston’s visual and musical artists in a collaborative, community-driven event.

Your performance will help set the tone for the entire experience—serving as both inspiration for the live painters and a point of connection for attendees exploring the world of classical music in a new, creative environment.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know as a featured performer.

About the Event

The Art Serenade is hosted by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League and will feature:

  • Two live painting competitions
  • An outdoor vendor market
  • Art and music-themed auctions
  • Food trucks and merchandise
  • Live classical music performances (that’s you!)

Event Date: August 16th, 2025
Location:  Park Circle Community Buildy & Grounds
Event Time: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Your set will be part of a rotating schedule designed to keep music present throughout the event and across all activity zones.

What to Expect

Arrival & Check-In: Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled performance. Check in at the musician welcome table to receive your t-shirt and get settled.
Setup Needs: Let us know in advance if you need a chair, music stand, or light amplification. Most sets will be acoustic.
Performance Style: Sets are informal and ambient. You’re not on a traditional stage—you’re part of the event’s atmosphere. Think “musical gallery experience.”
Attire: Comfortable, professional, weather-appropriate clothing. Art Serenade t-shirts will be provided and may be worn if desired.

Each participating musician will receive:

  • A commemorative Art Serenade t-shirt
  • Recognition on the event website and social media
  • Printed program listing

Musician Expectations

  • Arrive on time and be performance-ready
  • Interact with the community—answer questions, engage with artists if comfortable
  • Let us know ASAP if you have a scheduling conflict or cannot attend

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of music should I play?
We recommend classical or classical-inspired pieces. Light improvisation or modern acoustic interpretations are also welcome—especially if they’re emotive and engaging.

Will my set be amplified?
Most sets will be acoustic. Small amps may be available for outdoor sets—please request ahead of time if needed.

Can I bring guests or family?
Yes! Guests are welcome. However, only registered musicians receive free entry – guests must purchase a ticket.

What happens if it rains?
The event will proceed rain or shine. The music will all be indoors.
