Every painting at the Art Serenade starts with music. Months before the event, each artist is paired with a piece of classical music chosen with the Charleston Symphony. They listen, they live with it, and they put what they hear on canvas.
How it works
- The match. Each artist receives one symphonic work, along with listening notes from the Charleston Symphony, and keeps their piece under wraps until the reveal.
- The painting. Over the winter, every artist creates one original work inspired by their music, in their own style and medium.
- The reveal. On April 17, 2027, the finished paintings debut side by side at the Park Circle Community Building while the music that inspired them fills the room.
- The auction. Every painting is auctioned at the event, with bidding closing at 2:45 PM. 100% of what we raise goes to music education and scholarships in Charleston.

WHO ARE THEY?
That's part of the magic. The full artist lineup, and the music behind each painting, is revealed in spring 2027. Sign up for updates and you'll be the first to know.
See them at work
The finished paintings aren't the only art happening on April 17. Live painters create new work throughout the day, the vendor market puts you face to face with local makers, and kids get their own canvases at the collaborative art tables. Come watch something get made.
Live symphonic performances run throughout the day, free for everyone.
