Volunteer at Art Serenade: Help Make the Magic Happen

Imagine a day where live classical music fills the air, painters create new works in real time, and the Charleston community comes together to celebrate creativity, connection, and culture. This is the Art Serenade—and it won’t happen without you.

We’re looking for reliable, community-minded volunteers to help us in the days leading up to the event and on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Whether you’re supporting artists as they set up, greeting guests at the door, or assembling swag bags with fellow creatives, your role is essential. Art Serenade is powered by people like you—because no one person can do everything, but together, we can do something incredible.

• Time: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM (volunteer shifts run 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Location: Park Circle Community Building & Grounds, North Charleston, SC

We’ve organized volunteer roles into different categories. Pick one that speaks to your interests—or sign up for more than one!

• Warmly welcome guests as they arrive
• Direct them to ticketing, registration, or event zones

• Process ticket purchases and check in guests
• Distribute wristbands and t-shirts
• Assist with individual merchandise sales

• Be available to help vendor artists with any needs
• Monitor and maintain the DIY art station for kids and adults
• Keep creative areas tidy and supplied

• Assist musicians as they arrive, set up, and transition between sets
• Monitor auction artwork and sculpture stations
• Answer guest questions and support closing auction bids

• Staff the auction table and encourage participation
• Help guests use the digital bidding system (GiveSmart)
• Receive and track donations made to CSOL

• Capture behind-the-scenes moments
• Record live clips of performances and audience interaction
• Conduct light interviews or short video testimonials from guests and artists

• Monitor guests to ensure wristbands are visible
• Keep event space clean and inviting
• Assist wherever support is needed

• Shifts: 9AM–1PM, 12PM–4PM, 3PM–7PM

  • Help artists and vendors set up their tables
  • Unhang artwork and return it to artists after the event
  • Keep common areas organized and clear throughout the day

Can’t make it on August 16? You can still help us behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the event:

• Help with screen printing t-shirts
• Package artist and sponsor materials for attendees

• Share the event with your network
• Repost social media announcements and behind-the-scenes stories
• Distribute flyers to community spaces and art-friendly businesses

As a thank-you for your time and energy, all volunteers will receive:

• A limited-edition Art Serenade t-shirt
• Community service hours (perfect for students or service groups)
• Recognition on CSOL’s website and social media
• A fun, hands-on role in one of Charleston’s most creative and collaborative arts events
